Cult - the part of the month September /07:

Drinking bottle of elite, model Sartchari

Here it concerns the reproduction of a drinking bottle of 1890 of elite. It originates from the year 1998.

Cult - the part of the month August /07:

Campagnolo 990 switching device approx..1985

Campagnolo Victory-Schaltwerk ca. 1984 A Campagnolo Victory or Triomphe circuit from the early 80's is shown. I drove this switching device until 2004 with different, also screened shift levers.

Cult - the part of the month July /07:

Crank set of Stronglight, model 49D

A classical crank set from the 70's, produced in France. Consider the pressed in coinages.

Disadvantages this crank set:

  • Only Stronglight chainwheels fit.
  • Only Stronglight pullers fit.
Advantage:
  • It's hard to find a part looking more classical.

Cult - the part of the month June /07:

Marchisio IKO pinion package

You see a pinion package of Marchisio IKO for hubs with thread. This gear rim is appropriate for thread hubs and exhibits the numbers of teeth 13-14-15-16-17-18. It is thus only something for heroes. A Tuning part concerns beyond that, because it consists completely of Auminium.

Cult - the part of the month May /07:

Hub-integrated dynamo by SON

I know, this part does not fit into the season. Nevertheless the original hub generator of Wilfried Schmidt is probably the best in this range which one could receive for money and good words. And if it should not run in the distant future any longer optimally: Then it will be shifted into the technical starting for approx.. 50 euros by the manufacturer. The hub generators of Shimano are also good; this is the best one.

Cult - the part of the month April /07:

Mafac centerpull brake 70's

Mafac brake 70's A classical centerpull course brake in the short version for running and racing wheels is shown. It is buildes by the French tradition manufacturer Mafac. This company produced also the first Cantilever brakes, which were mounted at most CROSS racing cycles in former times. The brake is (still) in an uncleaned condition; the brake wedges are of an old Shimano 600-brake. In former times nearly everyone had the "Weinmann" central course brakes, but the original from Mafac was and is rarer. This type of brake was mounted often at Peugeot racing cycles of the late 70's.

There is a further, older, similar version with turned brake arms by 90 degrees, in which one can install genuine Cantilever brake wedges. They appear also shortly on this site.

Cult - the part of the monthly March /07:

Saddle of Brooks model B17 Aged

The saddle for life... In times, in which a complete bicycle in the building market for 99 euros is to be had, probably only few people are ready to spend only on a saddle more than 60 euros. But it is worthwhile itself. The saddle cover consists of leather, the rack is forged. The saddle adapts with the time to the anatomical forms of the owners and obtains an appropriate travelling comfort, which cannot be attained with "gel saddles". In addition it revalues the optics of the cycles, at which it is installed. This saddle is however nothing for weight-tuners, on the other hand one it is one of the few core leather saddles, which look still good also at classical racing cycles.

Cult - the part of the month February /07:

Porter front wheel of T.A. for Mafac brakes with headlight

Porter front wheel of T.A. for Mafac brakes with headlight
The illustration shows a porter for the front wheel of the manufacturer Mafac. This French manufacturer builds mainly brakes. The porter is installed at the two brakepins of a Mafac centerpull brake and is hardly loadable therefore. It serves to fasten a steering bag very well. This part is to be hardly found even in France. It was installed often at Peugeot , Gitane or Motobecane touring cycles of the 80's and 70's.

Cult - the part of the month January /07:

Bosch Rotodyn headlight of 1948

Here you see a Bosch "Rotodyn" headlight, year of construction 1948 or 1949. These headlights were built in a large number of items, today they are difficult to find (in good condition). The designation "Rotodyn" referred even to further parts of the lighting.

However there is recently a headlight in similar Design again, now however with halogen technology of Bush & Mueller.

Cult - the part of the month December /06:

Shimano 600 crank set ca. 1978

Shimano 600 crank set ca. 1978
Here a Shimano 600 crank set from the late 70's is shown. It has broken through props to the chain sheets as well as a "blood gutter" laid out with red. The integrated pullers were re-tooled later. I drove this crank set until 2006 without problems. It is not bent, therefore the feet are endangered.
